Horrible!

Okay so I know that I am really really really horrible at keeping up with a blog! I'm going to try to keep up but make no promises! Hahahaha!

So we moved to Washington State in June of 2013. We bought a farm on 18 acres and LOVE it! We now have 11 heifer calves, 1 bull, a dog, a rabbit, 2 kittens, and too many chickens to count. (Seriously we have almost 100 of them!) We have about 13 chickens that lay eggs and let me tell you that they are the BEST eggs you have ever tasted! We are going to sell some of the 35 that are in the barn since they are about 4 months old. They should be laying eggs soon too. Then we have about 40 chicks that are about 3 weeks old. I guess we are in the chicken business. LOL!!

Steve works in Olympia. He is still with USDA NASS. He is the deputy director in the Northwest regional office. I am teaching in Lacey at Community Christian Academy. I am teaching kindergarten this year. It is challenging but it is absolutely awesome! (Aside from the fact that I got pneumonia and am trying to recover from that.) The best thing is that we can all carpool every day. The kids are going to CCA and it is incredible to have them at the same school that I teach in. Emilia is in 2nd grade this year, Tristan is in 1st grade, and Elizabeth is in pre-k.

All 3 kids are playing fall soccer right now. Emilia is totally loving it and she is improving greatly. It is really fun to watch her progress with every game she plays. Tristan likes playing but he says that his favorite part is when they say "good game" at the end and high 5 each other. OH MY! He is a silly boy! Elizabeth says she likes it too. They are a funny group to watch. One of the coaches said it was like herding cats trying to get them to play. She is making good progress though.

Steve and I are looking forward to attending a WSU football game in a few weeks. Since Rachel, our niece, is attending WSU this year, we may have to spoil her with dinner out.

I guess that is all for now. I will try and be better about updating this blog and promise to post photos soon.

A day at the children's museum

We went to the children's museum in Olympia and let me tell you.....it's AMAZING! They have so much to do and see. The kids got to make model hot air balloons, pretend to shop in the store, build a house, color a picture, discover with water, play fireman and policeman, and much more. The staff is awesome too! They have at least one staff member in each area who keep an eye out as well as keep the stuff picked up. It is well run and safe for the kids. I'm glad we got a year membership because it is definitely a place we will visit frequently.

Touch "Football" with the Cousins

Rachel, Palen, and Aunt Renee came over after the basketball tournament and played a little touch "football" with the kids. I say "football" because Emilia and Tristan didn't quite get the concept of it but we all had fun anyway. It is GREAT to live so close to family!

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The kids and I decided to venture to the zoo before school got out for the summer. I thought that we would benefit from having a membership so we can go again and again. Let me tell you....that was a GREAT choice! Such a fun zoo!
